Teenage acne affects all of teenagers, especially those who are from 10 to 13 years old. No wonder why acne problem is often regarded as a worldwide health problem. Everyone experiences it in different types and in different ages. But whatever type of teen acne you have, there is a perfect solution for that. And solving your skin problem starts from knowing all about teen acne.

Teenage Acne: The Basics

All acnes—from mildest to most severe—grow because of sebum overproduction. This is an oily substance that is being produced by the sebaceous gland, one of the so-called oil glands. The oil attracts and keeps dirt on the face, trapping the skin pores. You would see the trapped pores as whiteheads or blackheads, usually on the nose. Those are combination of oil and dirt. Soon, those will grow, spread to other parts of the face, and break out and become teenage acne.

But the interesting fact is that teenage acne is more intense than adult acnes that you might have noticed on your parent. Breakouts are also common during the first stage of adolescence period, which is typically from 10 to 13 years old. Hormones are actually the culprits.

During the puberty stage, hormonal production becomes more intense that the body cannot function normally enough to handle it. You’ll see the health symptoms on teenage acne.

The hormonal production triggers the sebaceous gland to produce more sebum. So there is the overproduction—the root of the teenage acne. Other triggers include eating & diet (like when you like to eat greasy, dry, and salty foods), lifestyle, and depression.

Again, it is normal at your age to have teenage acne. Luckily, your generation is endowed with better and more choices on teenage acne cures. Gone were the days when teens have to bear with few options on skin problems & treatments.

Teenage Acne Treatments

Start treating teen acne as soon as you can. Heal teenage acne by opening the pores, killing the bacteria, minimizing oil, and reducing the appearance of acne scars. Here’s a random list of what you can do to treat teenage acne:

Wash. Wash face at least twice a day and never do it obsessively. Too much washing can irritate the skin and might make the condition severe. Choose the mildest facial wash or cleansing bar. Avoid those with too much perfume, colorant, and beads. You may prefer cleansers with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These two contents help dry up teenage acne and kill pimple-causing bacteria. Also, it will be more effective to open up the pores if you’ll damp your face with warm water and rinse it with cool water.

Exfoliating solution. Use the mildest exfoliant for teenage acne. Usually, they have fine beads with salicylic acid. They have mild peeling effect that can heal and dry up cystic acne and remove acne scars. But be cautious when using this as most exfoliating product for treating teenage acne should only be used twice or thrice a week. Follow the manufacturer recommendation when using such products. Again, prefer products that contain salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, alpha hydroxyl acids, and retin-A. These are helpful for getting rid of teenage acne.

Topical solutions. There are teenage acne treatment products in lotion, cream, and gel form that can be directly and topically applied on the affected area. These have resorcinol, sulfur, and benzoyle peroxide that are all effective in killing bacteria.

Isotretinoin. This is a type of birth control that can be taken orally to slow down oil gland’s production of sebum. It works as an acne medication only while it is taken so when you stopped taking isotretinoin, expect breakouts to come back. But it’s already a good solution just as your teenage acne is there.

Toner. Use a gentle astringent or toner to heal and wipe away excess oil. This also helps clear up dirt and dead skin cells that might only clog pores and become teenage acne.

Facial masks. Choose facial masks containing sulfur. The right amount of sulfur removes excess oil from the face, thus also prevent teenage acne from showing up.

Antibacterial pads. Make sure to get pads with benzoyl peroxide as they can help wipe away excess oil on your face that might only trigger teenage acne.

Pore strips. Some people are not okay with using pore strips because of the danger of opening the pores too harshly. But there are brands today that are safe and effective on removing stubborn blackheads and whiteheads. There’s no harm if you’ll try the old-fashioned nose strips to treat teenage acne.

Facial. Though not necessary, but having a good facial once a month will deep-clean pores and remove any dirt that might become teenage acne soon.

Meanwhile, here are the clinical health treatments for teenage acne that you may consider with your parent:

Antibiotics. Erythromycin, clindamycin, sulfacetamide, and azelaic acid may be prescribed for teenage acne treatment as topical antibiotics. The dermatologist might also suggest oral antibiotics to treat teenage acne like sulfa drugs, amoxicillin, cefadroxil, minocycline, doxycycline, and tetracycline.

Retinoids. These teenage acne treatments are effective on unclogging pore and removing dirt and killing bacteria. Side effects like irritation and sensitivity to the sun might be experienced. Take note also that these are only allowed for at least 12 years old patients.

Oral contraceptives. The reason why oral contraceptives are given to teenage acne sufferers is that they can balance the hormonal imbalance that triggered overproduction of sebum. Yaz, Tri-Cyclen, Ortho, and Estrostep are among the FDA-approved contraceptives for treating acnes.

Your teenage acne will heal faster if lifestyle changes will be done while on treatment. Eat healthy foods like non-greasy and avoid to eat foods that are unhealthy.

Super severe cases of teenage acne might be treated only with the last options like laser treatments, chemical peels, and other medically intrusive methods. These have side effects on health and cost a lot more than a complete set of anti-acne regimen for a month. But they sure are worth a try especially if you have tried almost everything that you can use to treat teenage acne.

Acne affects millions of people around the world – men and women – regardless of age. Teen acne affects teenagers all over the world. The teen years are the time when pimples start to grow. Adolescence brings about many changes to a teen, and that includes hormonal changes. During the teen years is when the hormones spike up, causing different changes in the body like growing body hair, getting taller, the voice growing bigger, and of course, growing acne. You can say that having acne is part of the growing years.

There are several causes of teen acne, and teenage acne treatment also depends on what caused it, aside from other factors like sensitivity of the skin and the severity of the acne.

Hormones. They are main culprit for teen acne. When hormones spike up, they bring so many changes to the body. They also stimulate the production of oil by the sebaceous glands or oil glands. These glands are not only to blame for acne. Dead skin cells clog the skin, which causes blackheads to appear. Too much oil on the face causes a breakout, with pimples growing on the nose, cheeks, forehead, and sometimes at the back, chest and shoulders.

Diet. The eating habits of teenagers can also be blamed for acne. Eating too much greasy and oily food causes acne. A healthy diet may not prevent acne from developing totally, but it can lessen the causes of acne in teens. Maintaining overall health by eating a healthy diet is key.

Menstruation. Teenage girls most of the time suffer from a breakout a few days before they get their period. This is because when menstruation is about to set in, hormonal changes occur.

There are many types of teenage acne treatment. They range from over-the counter teenage acne treatment that includes ointments, facial creams, moisturizers, etc. Dermatologist-prescribed types of acne treatment such as benzoyl peroxide, oral antibiotics and salicylic acid are also available. Holistic teenage acne treatment can also be tried, and of course those non-invasive medical procedures to get rid of acne.

Over-the-Counter Teenage Acne Treatment

There are different kinds of teenage acne treatment that do not need a doctor’s prescription. Facial creams that are especially manufactured for teens can be used because the chemicals are not so harsh compared to adult acne treatments. Benzoyl peroxide does not need a prescription to be bought and it is available in creams or gels. Parents can let their teen daughters and sons try out these creams and see if there is no adverse reaction to the cream’s ingredients. Salicylic acid is another teenage acne treatment option but contains very harsh chemicals. If the skin is sensitive, chances are it will have adverse reactions with this teenage acne treatment option. Testing salicylic acid on a conspicuous spot on the face to see if there is any reaction is advisable to avoid any more skin problems. Some types of over-the-counter teenage acne treatment are not compatible with teens’ skin. It is wise to try it on a small patch of skin to see if there will be no allergic reaction to the creams.

Prescription Teenage Acne Treatment

If the acne is so severe, a dermatologist may prescribe some medications that can help get rid of acne. There are several types of prescription medications for teenage acne treatment. One is topical antibiotics. They are available in creams, pads or gels. They are applied directly to the acne and the components of the antibiotics treat the pimples. Another treatment is oral antibiotics. As the name implies, they are taken by mouth, where the antibiotics travel through the body and release their elements into the body and in turn the sebaceous glands are prevented from producing excessive oil. This teenage acne treatment may take a few weeks before healing acne. Retinoid is a prescription teenage acne treatment that helps unclog pores and kills bacteria for a clear skin and pimple-free face.

Holistic Teenage Acne Treatment

Curing teen acne does not only involve medications. A teenage acne treatment that is holistic, chemical free and effective is also advisable. If the teen suffers humiliation, shame, depression and suicidal thoughts because of the effects of acne to her social life, it is important to talk to her and make her understand that having acne is a normal part of growing up and that she should not think negative thoughts about her condition because she is not alone in her predicament. This teenage acne treatment will not directly heal the acne but with the right guidance and support of loved ones, the teen will be able to accept her condition easily and not be ashamed of having acne. Acceptance and understanding is the first step to an effective teenage acne treatment.

Non-invasive Teenage Acne Treatment

When acne is so severe that the face is ridden with lots of pimples and simple teenage acne treatment like topical creams do not do the work, a non-invasive medical procedure can be done to get rid of acne. This type of teenage acne treatment may be costly because of the procedure to be done, but it is proven to be very effective as it targets the inner roots of pimples through laser and other procedures. This teenage acne treatment must be done in a certified clinic by a dermatologist. This teenage acne treatment also prevents scarring which may be caused by crushing and getting rid of acne by hand.

The list of teenage acne treatment options listed above must be consulted first before being used or done so that a dermatologist can prescribe the best teenage acne treatment. Each case is different from others, so it is important to consult a doctor. To prevent a breakout, washing the face at least twice a day with lukewarm water and keeping the face clean throughout the day is essential. Any form of teenage acne treatment may take several weeks to take effect but the right administration and dose of the prescribed teenage acne treatment must be followed strictly to avoid harsh side effects. Increasing the dose of a teenage acne treatment for faster effect will do more harm than good.

Defining Moderate to Severe Acne

What is acne? Acne is a skin disorder which is characterized by an accumulation of material in the pores. There are two forms of acne. Comedones, or blackheads and whiteheads, result from the buildup of material (oil, dirt and dead skin cells) in the pores. Another form of acne is the inflammatory acne. Examples of inflammatory acne are papules, nodules, pustules, and cystic acne. They result when fatty acids that are normally enclosed within the skin glands escape into the surrounding skin and cause an irritation. Acne may vary in severity, and moderate to severe acne is described as the widespread distribution of acne, which may be inflammatory and skin damaging. Severe acne treatments target different kinds of acne. The types of severe acne treatments given are determined by the forms of acne and extent of the acne. An acne treatment may be given or prohibited.

Kinds of Severe Acne Treatments

The purpose of severe acne treatments are to clear up existing acne, prevent new acne, and reducing scarring. Severe acne usually needs more treatments than mild acne. There are many severe acne treatments to choose from, depending on the person’s budget and preference. Severe acne treatments may last for a week up to a year.

Oral antibiotics. When the severe acne is mostly inflammatory, meaning that they are caused by irritation, an antibiotic for severe acne treatments may be prescribed. This is especially the case when the acne has become infected due to the entrance of bacteria through the wounds on the skin. These antibiotics are taken regularly for at least a week or more, depending on the severity of the acne. Severe acne treatments with antibiotics may last for months, but it is stopped when the oral antibiotics don’t have an effect on the acne, to avoid the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the body.

Oral isotretinoin therapy for severe acne treatments. A course of isotretinoin produces a good effect when given with other severe acne treatments. It’s taken by mouth to treat persistent cases of acne. It’s given for 3 to 4 months to clear severe acne, including cystic acne. This prevents comedones from developing, reduces the oil production of skin, decreases bacteria, and counteracts inflammation. These drugs are not advised for pregnant women, because they reach the baby in the mother’s body and cause it to develop abnormally.

Applying medicated remedies over the acne. There is a variety of acne medication used with severe acne treatments that are applied directly to the acne. Benzoyl peroxide kills bacteria and it also helps in destroying foreign matter that creates comedones. It reduces the severity of inflammatory acne, thus it is commonly prescribed for severe acne. Tretinoin causes the growth of new and healthier skin, and encourages the removal of comedones. Pregnant women are not allowed to use this medication because it may cause birth defects to their unborn child. Other topical antibiotics reduce the amount of bacteria on the skin and prevent infections and irritations from occurring.

Estrogen as an acne medication for severe acne treatments. This hormone helps make women have clearer skin by preventing the skin from producing excessive oil that may result to severe acne. This is not advisable for men because excessive amounts of estrogen, which is naturally found in a woman’s body, may cause a negative side effect for them. Most women may take birth control pills to relieve them of their severe acne. A checkup is usually done before a woman is prescribed birth control pills, however. Certain women, such as those with blood clotting disorders, may experience side effects with birth control use for severe acne treatments. Birth control pills are not generally safe to be used as an acne treatment but may be effective for some.

Corticosteroid therapy. This is used for very severe acne only because of its many side effects in the body. Topical corticosteroids are applied to the acne and cause the skin to normalize. An interlesional corticosteroid injection may be given for inflammatory acne. This usually results to the disappearance of the acne. However, the acne may return once the corticosteroids therapy is stopped, thus corticoids used for severe acne treatments are repeatedly given.

Acne surgery. There are many types of surgery for severe acne treatments. Acne surgery to treat comedones involves the extraction of the material embedded within the pores with the use of syringes. Severe cystic acne may be surgically removed and the skin sewn back together when the wound left is large. In severe acne treatments, laser surgery may be used to irradiate the severe acne and shrink the glands that cause excessive oil production. Laser may also cause the growth of new and clear skin. Scarring is common with surgery, so it’s best done by an expert surgeon.

Acne freezing. Severe acne treatments may involve quick freezing. Acne is removed by freezing it quickly with liquid nitrogen and removing it. No anesthesia is needed for this type of therapy. However, repeated therapies are usually required to remove most of the severe acne, especially if there are numerous acne formations.

Dermabrasion. This therapy involves scraping the top layers of the acne-ridden skin with a surgical instrument for severe acne treatments. This also removes the foreign materials that are responsible for the production of comedones. Dermabrasion is painful and it requires the use of a general anesthesia. Additional medications are given to take care of the newly-exposed layer of the skin.

Chemical peels. Similar to dermabrasion, chemical peels that are formulated for severe acne treatments remove the layers of the skin with the severe acne. These are chemical agents such as mild acids, such as alpha hydroxy acid, which cause the topmost skin to separate from the layer beneath it. Stinging, blistering and infections may result from this therapy, thus medications are given to counteract these side effects.

Lifestyle modification in severe acne treatments. Severe acne treatments involve treating the underlying cause of the severe acne. To determine the cause of the severe acne, a doctor will interview the person with regards to medical history, lifestyle, and other pertinent information. If in case something in the diet is causing the severe acne, a dietician may be consulted to correct the cause. A thorough physical assessment of the body is done to determine present illnesses that may be causing the formation of severe acne. An appropriate acne treatment will be given to treat the cause of severe acne.

Collagen filling. Severe acne may cause the skin to look rough and pitted at areas. Collagen may be administered via an injection to fill up the skin, if in case acne has caused it to become depressed or hollowed out. This doesn’t make the severe acne disappear like in certain severe acne treatments, though it makes the skin look more appealing.

Concealment. When it’s not yet convenient to get severe acne treatments, the person may choose to conceal the severe acne. Water-based make-up may effectively cover the severe acne and make it look like normal skin. Avoid make-up products that are too oily, because excessive oil may irritate the pores and aggravate the severe acne. Wash the make-up after use to prevent dirt from lodging into the pores and causing comedones. Use a good cleanser to keep bacteria from infecting acne wounds. Adequate clothing may help with cases of body acne.

A tip for effective severe acne treatments

Be careful when treating severe acne. It’s always best to consult a health professional, such as a dermatologist, who has specialized training and experience with severe acne treatments. Avoid using remedies that are not proven to be safe, even if it’s a natural acne treatment. Natural acne treatments and some skin products may cause the severe acne syndrome to worsen or cause other side effects. Make sure that the severe acne treatments you get are safe and appropriate for you.

This procedure will encourage the formation of a new skin layer so it’s not only a good way to remove acne scars but to also have a smoother face.

These medical treatments to remove acne scars are actually thousands of dollars in value. That is a lot compared to using natural means to lessen the appearance of acne like lemon and tomato.

But in the end, the procedure on how to remove acne scars does not matter because whatever you’ll use, you’ll always need patience.

One of the most embarrassing things that can happen to a person is to have an acne-riddled face for the most of her youth. While it is often manageable, the condition is quite unavoidable. However, imagine if the onset of acne occurs even as you grow older and age past your 30s. A lot of women experience female adult acne, which is the breakout of pimples and other acne conditions in different parts of the body and the face. Having female adult acne can be more devastating than getting it during your teens. As an adult, you expect yourself to be free of such conditions that most teenagers experience, with acne being the most trivial and humiliating thing to have.

While a lot of factors may contribute to female adult acne, it is still quite a mystery in the field of dermatology. As for the causes of female adult acne, the main reason could be the hyperactivity of the sebaceous glands in the individual. When your glands are hyperactive, you produce more sebum which then clogs the pores. Once your pores are clogged with grime and sebum, acne develops which then turns to female adult acne. Of course, there are reasons why the sebaceous glands can become hyperactive and produce a lot of sebum. These factors can be linked to hormonal imbalances and the food that you eat (diet). Diet and acne have always had a relationship with one another when it comes to female adult acne. Other than that, stress has also been linked to female adult acne and other lesions on the skin.

The truth of the matter is, anybody is susceptible and prone to female adult acne. Even if you are in your 50s, you might be getting adult acne when you least expect it. Some women who experience female adult acne have not had severe acne when they were young, which comes as a total surprise when they women suddenly have acne as adults.

Some more reasons why adult women with acne experience what they have is due to the fluctuation of hormones, stopping birth control pills, consuming medication and even the genetic disposition can cause female adult acne. The fluctuation of hormones such as the monthly menstrual period as well as menopause or yeast infection can cause female adult acne or hormonal acne. Whenever a female experiences any changes that affect the hormones, acne can soon appear on the face and body. If you stop using birth control pills, you might also be prone to having female adult acne. The pill is known to have an added bonus effect of giving clear skin to those undergoing a birth control program. Once you stop using the pill for any reason, acne might come back which should not surprise you at all. Another factor that causes female adult acne is the use of medication that can make your condition severe. Certain types of an antibiotic or a regimen can have the possible side effect of giving female adult acne. In the event that you need to take medication, ask your dermatologist what her opinions are and what you should do to treat the onset of acne.

Your family history or genetics can also play a role in giving you female adult acne. Recent studies have shown that half of the adults tested for acne have parents or siblings that also have adult acne. This means that if your parents had adult acne while you were growing up, it is most likely possible that you will have female adult acne as well. Finally, the things that you put on your skin and your hair can also be a catalyst for the onset of female adult acne. Every cream or lotion you buy can cause a certain type of acne called “acne cosmetica”, which occurs if the product you are using gives your skin an adverse reaction.

Even if female adult acne can be a pain to most women who have it, the condition can be manageable through hormonal treatment and acne medications. One of the common hormone balance therapy for female adult acne is using birth control pills. The pills level the production of estrogen in the body and block androgen, which is one of the causes of acne. You can also avoid female adult acne by eliminating dairy products such as milk and cheese from your diet. Most of the dairy products have hormones in them that are given to cows to stimulate the production of milk. When you consume the hormones, you then become susceptible to hormonal imbalance that results to female adult acne.

When you have female adult acne, the next best step you can take is to take acne medication and cleanse the affected area yourself. There are plenty of products on the market that can be bought over-the-counter which is used for female adult acne. One of the more commonly known acne treatment regimens is using benzoyl peroxide, which is a liquid that eliminates bacteria on the pimple and dries it up. The liquid also helps stop the spread of acne on other areas of the skin by killing the bacteria. You can also buy a cleanser (should contain glycolic acid) for your female adult acne condition that can do the same thing but have the bonus effect of being able to moisturize your skin. You should also buy products that contain natural ingredients such as tea tree oil and jojoba oil to help moisturize your skin. These products are known not to be harsh on skin and can be used for treating female adult acne. Finally, do not try and prick the pimples on your face and body if you have female adult acne. Picking the acne on your own will cause unsightly scarring and the spread of female adult acne on other parts of the face and body. Just let the female adult acne pimples dry up without you interfering and the dead skin cells will be diminished without leaving any scars on the affected areas.

Having acne is a rite of passage as some people might say. While having pimples, blackheads and whiteheads can be manageable, stopping acne and preventing it from ever coming back is no small feat. Now when you have acne and its other side effects, scarring eventually happens. You may accidentally or intentionally prick pimples that can cause scars and risk infecting other parts of the skin. One of the worst effects of having pimples is the scar it will leave in different parts of your face and body. However, you can always learn to treat these unsightly marks and fade acne scars.

What causes acne scars and how can you fade acne scars fast? The reason why dark acne scars and red acne scars appear on the skin is quite simple. When you manually try to remove a pimple, whitehead or blackhead from your face, you rupture the skin violently and it causes an acne scar. You can learn to fade acne scars by using products that are available on the market but preventing them from happening is still better than using acne scar treatment regimens. Before proceeding further in learning to fade acne scars and use products to fade acne, you must first know how you can prevent acne scarring. The first thing you should absolutely learn to do is to avoid touching your pimples and blackheads whenever they appear on your face and body. The fact that your hands have been everywhere and contain millions of bacteria can worsen the situation and make fade acne scars an impossible thing to do. When you touch affected areas with your hands, you risk the possibility of infecting other parts of your face and body with the bacteria in the pimple. After you prick the pimple, the bacteria in it will definitely spread and infect other parts of your face. Other than that, you will also have an acne scar and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on the skin. So, the best thing you can do for your skin and avoid fade acne scars for a long time is to avoid touching the infected areas as much as possible.

Now, on learning how to fade acne scars, there are various ways you can go around treating hyperpigmentation and scars on your face and body. One of the first things you can do to fade acne scars is by using over-the-counter creams and products that help in acne treatment and fade acne. A product such as an ointment or a cream may be effective to fade acne scars and other marks caused by pimples. However, you need to use the products that you are using according to their directions and not how you wish to apply them on your skin to fade acne scars. Other than that, you also need to use sunscreen lotion when you are using creams to fade acne scars. The sunscreen will help avoid the darkening of the scars even more by protecting them from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. The rays of the sun play a huge factor in the process to fade acne scars by making sure you do not become prone to skin cancer and other lesions while you apply products to remove acne scars.

You can also employ natural methods to fade acne scars on your skin. By learning to fade acne scars natural, you are making sure that no harsh chemicals from various products make your condition even worse than it already is. For instance, you can use vitamin E oil to help fade acne scars and lighten affected areas of the skin. Using the vitamin oil helps make the skin smoother and increase elasticity, as well as containing properties that have skin lighteners. Other than that, you can also use lemon juice and olive oil to fade acne scars. The acidity of the lemon helps remove dead skin cells and improve the pigmentation of the skin while olive oil increases the moisture and promotes the growth of new and healthy skin cells. All the oils and lemon juice are quite practical as they are quite cheap and do not cause irritation on the skin to fade acne scars. If these natural methods do not seem fitting for you if you want to fade acne scars, there are also clinical and medicinal measures you can utilize for acne scar removal.

You can also try exfoliating affected areas of your skin to fade acne scars. While some can be prescribed, other exfoliating solutions can also be bought over-the-counter. However, you should note that products like these to fade acne scars often have side effects such as irritation and redness of the skin. With its side effects, using exfoliating solutions is an excellent way to promote new skin growth and fade acne scars. Other than using exfoliating solutions to fade acne scars, you can also use skin lighteners that are sold in the market today. These skin lighteners have properties such as glycolic acid and other natural ingredients that make fading acne scars a possibility. However, you should not use skin lighteners without the help of exfoliants. In learning how to fade acne and the scars that are produced, using products that go together such as exfoliants and skin lighteners work best to fade acne scars.

Finally, if you are the type of person that is impatient, you may want quick procedures to fade acne scars. If you want a quick guarantee that you can fade acne scars, you need to visit your dermatologist to qualify for certain procedures. For instance, you can go through facial procedures such as chemical peels and dermabrasion to fade acne scars. These procedures are quick but require a succession of sessions before you see the results. Other than that, they are quite costly which is why only handful of people can afford them to fade acne scars. But, like most procedures, chemical peels and dermabrasion also have their side effects that can cause discomfort. However, such is the price to pay when you want to have clear skin and fade acne scars.

Acne is a bane of every person’s existence. The fact that it is unsightly, repugnant and painful is reason enough for everybody to hate having pimples caused by acne. However, other than acne breakouts on the face, chest acne is also a problem for teenagers and adults alike. Yes, it is a myth that acne on the chest as well as other forms of breakouts is limited only to people that have not yet reached adulthood. Acne can affect people of any age, even more so in adults that are prone to the condition.

Chest acne is a condition where breakouts are located over the chest and in other areas of the torso. As mentioned, the belief was adolescents were the only one plagued with having chest acne. However, with recent studies surfacing, it is now known that adults also experience chest acne. Women are reported to take a majority of the figure with the number of people that have chest acne. 54% of women have the condition whereas only 40% of men have chest acne. There are plenty of factors that cause chest acne in both teenagers and adults. The common reason why men and women have chest acne is due to having sebaceous glands that are hyperactive, which in turn leads to breakouts. However, it is also a simple fact that if a person is not hygienic, he or she will also have acne.

Hygiene plays a huge role in the prevention of chest acne by making sure that the pores are clean and free from bacteria. When you ensure that your face and body is clean at all times, you prevent the possibility of pimples and other types of chest acne from appearing. For instance, an act as simple as taking frequent showers is a way you can prevent chest acne from appearing. Taking showers and cleaning yourself unclogs the pores as well as the oil glands that may avoid whiteheads and blackheads from manifesting which causes body acne. Of course, if you already have chest acne, cleaning yourself is a great way you can prevent more of the acne from spreading to different areas of your skin. One of the methods you can use as an acne treatment is to use soap that is especially made for treatment of chest acne. These soaps are made with salicylic acid that can help alleviate symptoms caused by chest acne. However, you also need to make sure that you do not aggravate and cause acne scars by intensely rubbing your body to remove chest acne. Vigorously rubbing the infected areas will not only cause scarring but will also result in the spread of acne in different areas of the body. The effects are quite painful and can take a longer time to heal.

After you take showers, you can also apply chest acne treatment on the affected area of the skin. You can use benzoyl peroxide to clean and disinfect the areas on your chest with acne. The aim of using this topical solution is to prevent the bacteria from spreading on your skin that causes chest acne. Another form of treatment you can use for chest acne is through medication. Most of these creams and solutions can be bought over-the-counter while the stronger types must be recommended by a dermatologist. Using creams and ointments are commonly known as spot treatment, which is often used at night and applied on specific areas of the skin that has acne.

While maintaining good hygiene is a great way to prevent outbreaks, there are instances where one simply cannot prevent the onset of chest acne. During summertime, the weather is exceptionally hotter and causes you to sweat more. When you perspire, the sweat mixes with your body’s oils and grime that can then clog pores. When the pores are clogged, vulnerability to chest acne is an often possibility. It is recommended that you bring with you a small towel during heat waves to remove sweat on your skin. The less time sweat stays on your skin the less chance of chest acne manifesting as well. Another thing that you should avoid to prevent chest acne and to stop its spread is to wear loose clothing as much as you can. Tight clothing will also trap sweat and dirt, which in turn clogs the pores which now becomes about chest acne. Loose-fitting clothes made from natural fabrics such as cotton allows the skin to breathe and makes sweat evaporate. The type of detergent you use to wash your clothes with can also become a factor for chest acne. If you are using a type of detergent that contains harsh or strong chemicals, it may irritate your skin and have adverse effects. If you are prone to chest acne, pick detergents that are fragrance-free and those that are made for people with sensitive skin.

When you are suffering from chest acne, it is important that you do not prick the pimples on your own. Besides chest acne scars, pricking the skin where pimples are will cause your skin to bleed as well as risk the possibility of infection. Other than that, the bacteria on your chest acne will spread and affect other parts of your body as well. It would be wise to leave the pimples alone other than if you are applying acne treatment on it. Once the chest acne dries up, the dead skin cells will naturally fall of and will not leave a scar.

Finally, chest acne also plagues women who put make-up or foundation on their chest areas. Like sweat and grime, make-up and other cosmetic products also clog pores and the skin cells that is another factor that causes chest acne. If you are quite prone to skin irritation, avoid putting any cosmetic products on your chest so you may be able to avoid having acne on the body. If you feel that you must, make sure that you do remove any make-up on your face and body before you go to sleep at night. Better yet, take a shower to remove any residue of make-up or cosmetic products.

When you were growing up, one of the things you would absolutely dread was when acne would strike and you would have pimples. Nothing ruins an entire week more effectively than a huge zit on your face before your day even begins. What people fail to recognize is that acne does not only strike teenagers and young adults. Breakouts occur at any age and even adults that have reached their 40s may even be susceptible to pimples. Acne would not only be limited to the face, as back acne is also part of having an overactive sebaceous gland that is trapped in pores. However, there are treatments for acne on the face and body acne. One of the acne treatments growing in popularity is the blue light acne treatment, which is quite new in the field of dermatology and the cure for acne vulgaris.

Before proceeding with the different forms of treatment especially blue light acne treatment, what are the factors that cause outbreaks on the skin? While it is true that moderate to severe acne outbreaks are caused by trapped oils from the sebaceous glands, there are definitely other factors which increase acne severity on the face and body. While blue light acne treatment can help stop outbreaks, preventing the causes of outbreaks still outweigh receiving acne treatments for clearer skin. One of the reasons why people have breakouts and receive laser and light therapies such as blue light acne treatment is in part due to their diet. Although this fact has not been proven to contribute to skin acne, it is common knowledge that eating unhealthy food will lead to breakouts. Another factor has been linked to stress and hormonal changes most especially in women.

Recently, blue light acne treatment has grown in notoriety amongst people with acne lesions wanting to have a clear skin. However, some types of medication other than blue light acne treatment have also been known to aggravate acne instead of being helpful. One of the more notorious factors is using harsh cleansers and facial care regimens that contain strong ingredients. These very strong chemicals irritate the skin and aggravate acne, which will make you need blue light acne treatment somewhere along the way. When you use facial cleansers, they should be mild and contain all-natural ingredients. Then, another culprit that causes an individual to have an acne outbreak is through using cosmetic products that can damage the skin. Some make-up products are quiet greasy and oily, which in time will cause the skin to have acne and pimple outbreaks. Then when that happens, you will have to go the dermatologist for blue light acne treatment.

So how does blue light acne treatment work? As the name suggests, blue light acne treatment is a procedure that involves lights and lasers that target that affected area of the skin. This therapy for acne is meant to heal and treat mild to moderate cases of acne through laser/light acne treatments. There are quite some advantages to using blue light acne treatment as a form of therapy for bad skin. First, blue light acne treatment takes a very short time to accomplish per session. The blue light treatment takes only fifteen minutes to complete each session, which you might have to do twice a week. Another advantage of using blue and red light for treatment of acne is that it is not harmful to the skin because blue light acne treatment does not have ultraviolet rays that are damaging to the skin.

Some of the known benefits of blue light acne treatment include reduction in oiliness of the skin, as well as killing the bacteria that causes acne vulgaris through this procedure. Having clearer skin through blue light acne treatment is indeed a possibility if you combine the light treatment with prescription medication, which is often a recommendation of the dermatologist. Of course, with some benefits of blue light acne treatment, there are also some side effects and results that are not quite so pleasant. One of the side effects of acne light treatment is that it will cause temporary redness and may also dry the skin. Another disadvantage of using blue light acne treatment is that it will cause pigment changes in the skin through the use of light, most especially towards individuals that have sensitive types of skin.

Blue light acne treatment in some aspects is still not relied upon in the field of dermatology. Other than the therapy that includes temporary redness because of light therapy, there are still some claims that blue light acne treatment still cannot prove. Like most treatments, people respond differently every time. While some patients will respond well to blue light acne treatment, others will have temporary redness and not have the laser therapy work on them. On the other hand, some patients have used blue light acne treatment when other forms of treatment have not worked on them well. Acne light therapy is meant to aide you while you are undergoing other forms of treatment and receiving medication for your condition as well. On its own, blue light acne treatment will not work that well and results will be quite temporary.

Finally, if you want to have clear skin, you will need to employ the practice of having a good regimen to take care of yourself other than just relying on blue light therapy. Even before you have an outbreak, making sure that your face is clean all the time prevents you from having pimples that may cause you to rely on blue light acne treatment. Even after you have received blue light acne treatment, you still need to maintain cleanliness as well as having a regimen to clean your skin. It does not mean that once you are done with blue light acne treatment you can go back to your old ways. After blue light acne treatment, you need to take extra special care so as to avoid having an outbreak relapse once again. Other than that, blue light acne treatment does no remove marks caused by acne. Permanent marks caused by pimples will require you to have scar treatments.

Acne affects millions of people and anyone who is suffering from acne can say that it also affects their self-esteem. Teenagers and even people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and even 50s also suffer from acne due to several different reasons. The secret to keeping acne at bay is to use the acne treatment diligently and consistently. And the secret to knowing which treatment works best for you is through trial and error. Natural remedies for acne are the safest forms of acne treatment to use because they do not have harmful synthetic chemicals that may do more harm than good to your skin. Although these medical treatments prove to be effective, so do natural remedies for acne. Natural remedies for acne are among the cheapest, and sometimes free, treatments for acne.

It is important to know that acne does not only mean pimples. Blackheads and whiteheads are also considered acne. Pimples and cysts are bumps that appear on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders that sometimes have pus. Natural remedies for acne are proven to be effective on different cases. Since people’s skin types are different from each other, natural remedies for acne also vary. Natural remedies for acne have different components. One of the natural remedies for acne may be effective to your friend but not on you. That is because your skin and your friend’s are different and the components of her chosen natural remedies for acne may work better on her skin type. So if you want to have the best natural remedies for acne, you have to try them out first so you’ll know if they suit your skin type or not. Here is a list of natural remedies for acne that you can try.

Natural yogurt and oatmeal. The components of both the natural yogurt and oatmeal help in giving you a clear skin by eliminating pimples. You have to simply mix the two ingredients as natural remedies for acne until you get a pasty consistency and put it generously on the affected area like the cheeks, forehead, chest, shoulders or back and leave on for at least an hour before rinsing. Make sure though that the yogurt that you will use is flavorless, otherwise the flavor may affect its effectiveness and may interfere with the healing process of the acne.

Aloe vera. Aloe vera for acne? Yes. You might think that curing thinning hair and treating burns are the only things that aloe vera can do. Aloe vera gel is also effective in the treatment of acne and is considered one of the best natural remedies for acne. Polysaccharides are aloe vera’s components in treating acne and repair damaged skin. Aloe vera gel is lathered on the affected area and left for several minutes for the polysaccharides in the gel to do its job in getting rid of acne and repairing skin.

Tea and basil. Simply cook two tea bags and add dried basil leaves and let cook for at least ten minutes. Get a cotton ball and dip in the mixture and pat on the face. This is one of the natural remedies for acne that needs cooking.

Orange peel. This type of natural remedies for acne is one of the easiest to apply and acquire. Simply rub the orange peel on the face gently and leave the extract on the affected area for a few minutes. The acid in the orange and the vitamin C are what make this form of natural remedies for acne work. Of course it won’t hurt to eat the orange as well.

Honey. Honey is not really one of the natural remedies for acne. Rather it is one of the remedies for acne scars. Whenever you get pimples, you sometimes cannot help of pinching them until they bleed and leave ugly scars as reminders of your previous breakouts. Honey, when applied to the face or any affected area for several weeks or months can eventually get rid of acne scars. It may take a while before you see visible results.

Ripe tomatoes. Ripe tomatoes are one of the best natural remedies for acne because they have many vitamins and nutrients that are good for the body, including the skin. These natural remedies must be made into a paste and put as a face mask that should be left for at least a half hour for the nutrients to seep into the skin and begin their work in healing the pimples. Ripe tomatoes also moisturize the skin, giving you a healthy glow afterwards. A blemish-free skin and face is also achieved by using these natural remedies for acne.

Water. Water is the most available and cheapest or free form of natural remedies in this list of natural remedies for acne. What can be more natural than plain old water? Wash your face with warm water at least twice a day (once in the night to remove makeup and other grimes accumulated during the day). Doing so will open up your pores and clean the skin, resulting in the treatment of pimples.

Diet. Substitute unhealthy foods into healthy ones and eat them religiously and you will see a great change in your skin. If you eat foods that are rich in skin-repairing and acne-treating nutrients and vitamins, not only do you get rid of acne but become healthy overall as well.

Apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is one of the natural remedies for acne that you can find in your kitchen. It detoxifies the skin, getting rid of fat deposits. Pimples and acne in general are caused by overproduction of oil (also known as fat), and when you apply apple cider vinegar on your face, it stops the overproduction of oil and therefore gets rid of acne.

Baking soda. Baking soda fights bacteria, which is another cause of having acne. When applied to the face as a paste, it removes and kills germs that might cause you to have acne.

Extra virgin olive oil. This form of natural remedies for acne is simply lathered on the affected area to get rid of acne.

Tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has the same properties as baking soda. Tea tree oil fights bacteria and fungi that cause acne. If you have really bad acne, applying tea tree oil may just do the trick.

Even if you are planning to use these natural remedies for acne and your condition is so severe, you still have to consult a dermatologist so that it can be determined if natural remedies for acne are the suitable acne treatments for you acne problem. If you have used countless of natural remedies for acne diligently and regularly but still do not see any improvements, maybe the natural remedies for acne are not suitable for you.
